Riverton, Maryland (September 11, 2025) - - - REC Networks, through Michi-chan Sports, part of REC’s Fun and Games Department is announcing the production and eventual release of a 13-episode video series, “Michi-chan’s RAW Derby”.

Arizona, you have two fun filled weekends of derby love coming up.  For this coming Saturday, you will have to make a difficult decision as two leagues are offering “can’t miss” games. 

ARIZONA DERBY DAMES - SATURDAY, MAY 15, 2010 

On Saturday, May 16, 2009, history was made as the Surly Gurlies swept all three of their mini-games during the “Battle Royale” championship bout at the Castle Sports Club. The pirate-themed Surlys have always been underrated as a result of their 2008-2009 season record (they went 0-3 in regulation) when in fact, they have three of the strongest jammers in the league.

Citing concern for the safety of skaters, non-skating officials and fans as well as liability issues, Arizona Roller Derby made a late decision to cancel this evening's AZRD bout between the Bruisers and the Bad News Beaters. This evening was also supposed to have a exposition by Dry Heat Derby in a co-ed game that would have included skaters from the men's league, AZRD and Tucson Roller Derby.

MCRD has been made aware of the formation of another all-girl roller derby league in the Phoenix area. This new league is called the Hell City Roller Girls and was founded by Holly Homicide, Missy Faytal and Madison Manson. Holly was formerly a skater at Arizona Derby Dames and Renegade Rollergirls.

Holly told MCRD that the new league will have a ruleset similar to that of independent leagues such as the Arizona Derby Dames. The league is currently recruiting and will have a get-together and skate very soon.

Arizona Roller Derby has announced through their Facebook group of a new membership structure for the league.
